We caught it...Spring Fever!

The weather has been so nice since last week so we have done a lot of things outside lately. Brycen loves to be outside. We took Brycen to the park, but he still isn't too sure about all of that fun stuff. Josh blew some bubbles with him and he seemed to enjoy them. We also have been going on a lot of walks lately...and as long as the stroller is moving he is happy to be in there. Don't stop for a long period of time though b/c he wants out and on the ground! The circus is in town here so since the weather is so nice they fed the elephants their lunch for all who wanted to come and see. I didn't think he would enjoy it, but he was fascinated with watching them. Who knew elephants ate bananas...peel and all. Enjoy the pics from the park and seeing the elephants.

Christmas Time

Brycen really enjoyed the paper and the bows more than his actual presents I do believe. We woke up Christmas morning in our own house and did our Santa gifts together as a family. After a little play time we packed up and headed to Josh's parents house for the day. Brycen was not a big fan at all of Santa. I thought he would be too young to really know, but boy he sure wasn't.

So much has happened since my last post...lets see if I can give you a synopsis of everything thats happened.

-My brother, sister-in-law, and neice all came to visit right before Thanksgiving. This was my first time getting to meet my sweet neice...and Brycens too. They were so cute together and had a great time even though neither one really felt well.
-Christmas...oh my goodness Christmas! All the gifts he got...mostly gifts that he is scared of right now.
-Brycen is talking a lot more these days, eats all big people food now, and is walking behing his push toys.
I can't believe my little boy is about to turn 1. I am so sad that he has grown up so fast, but so blessed that we have him. He changes every single day. Words can't express how deep my love for him is. Enough of the boring stuff...I will post some pics of all the events that has happened since Halloween.

My mommy is so not the best at keeping all of you readers out there updated on my fun and exciting life! Here are some things I have learned to do in the past few months...
-eat baby food-I love them all!
-sit up like a big boy
-crawl, well ok more like rock and throw myself forward, get back up, rock again...and so on, but it gets me to where I want to go.
-I also have discovered my hands open and close and mommy likes to think I know how to wave "bye bye"
-I am saying more words like La La (thats what I call my dog, Bella), Ba Ba...mommy thinks she heard a Dada but we are keeping it a secret! :)
-My favorite toys are my jumperoo (I will have to see if Mommy can post a video of me jumping), my fishy mirror, and anything I can put in my mouth.
Oh yeah and speaking of my mouth, I have my first tooth coming in. Thats all for now...mommy is going to post some cute pictures of me next!

We packed the car and headed to the beach with our friends for a long weekend. We had a blast and Brycen seemed to enjoy it as well. He got to put his feet in the sand, let the waves crash on his little feet and float in the blow up pool. Thank you Kinseys for inviting us!!! :)

Ok, not really but this past weekend we travelled to the mountains for a little getaway with Josh's family. This was the first time Brycen would be in the car for a ride for more than an hour. He did really well and was even awake for some of the drive. So we ventured off to the mountains to get away from the 107 degree weather we were having in Columbia only to arrive to a cool 97 degrees in the mountains. Needless to say, it was HOT there too!! We hiked to a waterfall and let Bella and Chile (Josh's sisters dog) play in the water. Josh and Sarah also did some kayaking and even some swimming in the lake. Who would have thought you could swim in a lake in the mountains? It was actually warmer than the lake we swam in here over Memorial Day weekend.

This past weekend we went swimming at my parents house and cooked out. The big pool water is still too cold for Brycen so we bought him his own little pool and he loved it. By the way...he loves his bath now too. He loves it so much he kicks a lot of the water out! Glad that he enjoys the water b/c his mommy loves it.

2 Month check-up

Brycen went for his 2 week check-up last week and did a lot better than I thought he would. I think mommy cried more than Brycen did! :) He had to get 5 shots and 1 oral vaccination!!! Here are his stats at 2 months old:

9lbs 8oz
21 3/4 inches long

So that put him in the 20th% for his weight and 45% for his height. He doesn't go back for his well visit until he is 4 months old and so we'll see how much he grows in 2 months.

Mothers Day

My first Mothers Day was wonderful! Josh got Brycen up and they came and layed in bed and brought me my presents. I got a beautiful sterling silver picture frame that was engraved "My first Mothers Day" and had the date underneath it. Josh took a picture of Brycen and I before we went to church to put in the frame. I also got a digital picture frame so I can put all the pictues I take of my little man on it. We went to church and this was Brycen's first time at church. We spent the day with both our families and I was cooked for by both of them. It was a nice and relaxing day.

Make me say uhhhhh, uhhhh na na na na...sorry, was singing Master P! So my brother, Rick graduated with his Masters degree last week and we are so proud of him. Congratulations Rick!!! You have come a long way and have accomplished more than I would have ever thought you would. I am so honored to be your sister and know that something good did come out of our family...LOL!!! Way to go and bust your butt. I wish we could have come out with the rest of the family, but we were cheering you on all the way from SC! I love you Rick and am sooooo proud of you!!! :)

A lot of catching up...

Ok, so I admit that I am not the most "on top of things" person there is...but while he is sleeping I will try and update you on some things going on in our lives. Brycen turned 6 weeks on Friday and oh boy did he present some new attitudes to us. Some fun and cute ones that include talking a little more and smiling at us more and then the not so fun ones. The not so fun ones include him screaming when its time to go down for a nap. I think we figured out that it must be a growth spurt issue. He goes for his 8 week shots and check up next Friday and I am not looking forward to that b/c I know its going to break my heart to hear him cry out of pain.

being cold
going down for naps (right now anyway)
having his diaper changed when its time to eat
his baths (although he seems to be liking them more now)

Brycen rolled from his tummy to his back when he was 3 1/2 weeks old. He hasn't quite got that hang of going from his back to his tummy, but is almost there. The only problem is he rolls over so fast he scares himself. :) Here are some pics from the past few weeks. He is such a joy and blessing and I can't believe I am going back to work in only 2 weeks. :( Enjoy the pics...

Our baby boy made his debut (not by his choice) on March 28, 2008 at 10:03 am. He weighed 6lbs 11oz and was 19 1/2 inches long. I ended up having a c-section b/c my little guy just did not want to come out on his own. The first couple of days of recovery were pretty rough and painful, but it was all worth it in the end. Josh and I are adjusting to parenthood and loving every bit of it. I put together a slide show of our time in the hospital. We thank God for a healthy baby and safe delivery.

This was just too cute not to post. Bella has found her new "security blanket" it seems. I guess she wants us to remember that no matter what, she is still the baby. I had a bag of hand me down stuff given to me and in there were some pacis, so we thought we would see what Bella did. As you can see, she LOVED it! It is so cute to see her just walk around the house with it in her mouth. Hopefully she won't get a hold of her baby brothers! :)

Congratulations to my brother Rick and sister-in-law Monica on their little princess, Lola!! She was born Feb. 28th and weighed in at 7lbs 6oz and is 19 1/2 inches long. Lola is Brycens first cousin and it will be so neat having a cousin so close in age. We can't wait to meet her!!!

I can't believe that is all I have left. Where has time gone? I had a drs appt on Monday and everything is still going great and on track. So much on track that I thought I would be down to my weekly appts after the one on Monday, but nope...he said we'll see you in 2 weeks! So next time I go back I will be a full blown 37 weeks. All I know is that there better be some kind of change by then!

We have been busy getting things ready around the house for Brycen. Josh has been painting and putting up crown molding and I have been washing tons of clothes and putting them away. I am happy to report that his room is almost done. The furniture is put together and in place...we just need to put some things on his walls and get a bookcase for his room and it will be complete. Oh yeah...Josh is putting a closet organizer together for his closet too, so once that is done I can hang the clothes that need to be hung. This boy of ours is going to be one well dressed baby. I will post some pics of the nursery very soon.

I am not the most creative/blogger type of person, but with having so much family that live out of town this is the best way for them to keep up with us and our new journey we are about to begin. I have a lot of friends that use this site for their kids so I am going to give it a shot. Like anything, it will take time learning my way around. Maybe one day it will be a breeze!!!
